Suddenly there conversation is disturbed by a tall woman with long dark hair,

“Who wants to arm wrestle?!” She yells, seeming slightly intoxicated.

A few men chuckle at her, she quickly turns to them

“What are you laughing at, ladies?”

She approaches there table,

“100 gold says i win”

The chubby man agrees, and they begin there fight.

Kinto raised an eyebrow, turning towards the woman who had announced her challenge. “Ooh, this outta be good.” The boy whispered to Toph, smirking as he leaned back in his chair, watching the two start armwrestling. “I bet the girl’s actually good.” Kinto muttered, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Toph turned her head suddenly. “I know her. I never forget a voice. If memory serves correct then she will win this no problem…” The earthbender remembered when June helped them try to find Aang before Sozin’s Comet, but instead they went to see uncle. She wasn’t that much help, but in her defense Aang was on some weird turtle island thing. She listened as June won without breaking a sweat, and then hollered over “Hey June! Come over here!” She thought that the tough girl would make a great add on to there team. “I am sure you don’t remember me. The name’s Toph and this is Kinto. Congrats on the win.”

June pulls a seat up infront of the two “Toph… I think i recall you’ she ponders her thoughts for a brief second “Its been a long time…” She turns to Kinto and extends her hand “Nice to meet you, Kento was it?”

Kinto grinned cheekily, shaking her hand back. “Eh, Kinto. But that’s close enough. “Nice one.” He said, nodding towards the man she had beaten at armwrestling. “Where do you two ladies know each other from?” The boy asked, leaning back in his seat, and slowly raising an eyebrow.

“Well Sparky, aka the firelord, hired her twice to find Aang, the second time I came along with the group. She tired her best but Aang disappeared somewhere her giant mole thing couldn’t find. Overall she is what I aspire to be when I grow up.” Said the earthbender as she crossed her arms proudly.

Kinto rose his eyebrows, glancing back down at Toph. “Jeez, you weren’t kidding about being a good earthbender.” He said, obviously impressed. “Where to? Ah, let’s find someplace that… won’t attract attention.” He said, casting a look around the people staring. “That little stunt was kind of noticed. By a lot of people.” Kinto gave the onlookers a cheeky, short wave, before striding quickly off down a street. “This way.” He said to Toph, glancing back over his shoulder to make sure that she was following him. “My hair isn’t ratty, is it?” He asked in a murmur, more to himself than his blind companion.

“No not at all.” she said with a sarcastic tone to her voice and then waved in front of her face. They walked into a near dinner that seemed to double as a pub at night, they ordered some breakfast and took a seat. “So Kinto, tell me about yourself,” said Toph trying to make small talk.

Kinto chuckled, a sheepish grin on his face. “Er, right.” He said, slipping into a seat at the nearby diner. Casting a quick glance over his shoulder, just to make sure that none of the guards had seen their little stunt, Kinto turned back towards Toph moments later. “Myself?” The boy asked, propping his feet up on an empty chair, and raising one eyebrow towards the girl. “I’m from the Northern Water Tribe, but I haven’t been back home in a while. I actually failed most of Pakku’s waterbending classes.” He said, with a mischievous smirk.

“Oh really? You are a punk after all. At least Pakku agreed to teach you, Katara had to fight him and all, since the no girl rule and all. I was only taught basic breathing exercises since I was little by the same stupid teacher, soo I learned Earthbending from Badgermoles. I guess Pakku isn’t the biggest fan of you then?” She asked leaning on one elbow.

I really do not know. I mean, there is a theory that the moon was once part of the earth that got blasted off, so I don’t see why not.

Kinto nodded, absorbing the information-this Jet guy seemed pretty important to Toph, and if she was important enough to be traveling around with the Avatar… All these city politics, and they hadn’t even entered Ba Sing Se. “I hear ya.” He said, rather absentmindedly, as the two neared the looming walls. The waterbender headed towards the entrance, glancing back periodically to make sure that Toph was following him. “We’ll just slide in here…” He murmured, blending in with a merchant caravan entering the city.

“HEY YOU TWO!” Yelled a Ba Sing Se Guard, Toph and Kinto pretended not to hear and kept walking. “HEY STOP! I AM TALKING TO YOU! YES YOU BOY WITH RATTY HAIR AND LITTLE GIRL! YOU NEED TO GO THROUGH PASSPORTS!” What the man said pushed the wrong buttons with Toph and Kinto, they turned to face him, the waterbender stepped forward but Toph put a hand out to stop him. “Oh we are very sorry, as you can see I am blind and this goon is leading me to my uncles house in the upper ring.” The officer walked over and kneeled to Toph’s level, “Well then, you guys are heading in the wrong direction, that gate is for people who have already been checked, do you own a passport?”

This guy was really ticking Toph off, she reached into her bag and pulled out her Bei Fong Passport, “As you can see I have one, So you can just let me pass now..” The man looked at the passport closely, “Well miss, this is a very official passport, but this has expired…..by two years at least. It’s no good here. Run home to your parents now.” Toph’s fake smile was getting uncomfortable, “Oh screw it….Come on Kinto, We are leaving!” She stormed off to outside of the wall.

“This spot seems good,” Said the blind girl as she began to dig her feet in the ground. “uhhh What are you doing?” asked her confused travel companion. “Just shut up and do as I say!” She said as she started to move her arms with a swift motion, opening the wall of Ba Sing Se. She repeated the motion again in the other direction to open it fully, she grunted, it was an old tick wall after all. “Lets go,” She said as she pulled the boy threw and then shut the wall with a thud once they were in the city. People on the other side just stared at the two, “Well Pretty boy, where to next?”

“I said wake up!” The boy shouted happily, sticking his head below the deck to bellow down at Toph, before jumping back up to the front of the ship, forcing it aground with one more powerful wave. The pale streaks of dawn were just beginning to color the dull sky with tendrils of grey and gold,…

Toph cracked open her eyes and the sun seemed to burn as it creeped into the room. “Whats your problem?! I am trying to get some sleep here!” The earthbender hollered at the annoying man who laughed and walked off. She stretched and tried to pushed down her matted hair that looked like Momo had mad a nest in it. After her brief morning preparations were finished, she dragged up to the deck. “Jeez…I get used to sleeping in after the war ended and now this! I actually have to wake up on command. Ugh…..this is just annoying,” She paused and turned to Kinto, “I am guessing you see land? Why else would you wake me from my slumber.”

Kinto laughed, shaking his head; the motion was obviously lost on her, though. “I haven’t just /seen/ land-we’ve grounded! Ba Sing Se is less than a mile away. Ready?” The boy asked her, as he made his way towards the rope ladder. “Why so grumpy, it’s not that early.” Kinto added, stretching his arm over to ruffle her hair. “‘sides, you can rest once we’re in the city.” The familiar thrill of traveling was feeding the waterbender adrenaline steadily now, and he turned to glance at the bright walls with a glint in his eyes.

Toph pushed the waterbender, who seemed to cheerful for the morning, off of her. “Oh my gosh we hit land?! I must be so tried that I didn’t even notice…..Well if we are lets get going, Jet must be expecting me by now.” She said as she hopped off the boat and was greeted by land. “Earth! Yes!” she dug her toes into the ground. “Hey pretty boy. Are you coming or not?!”

Laughing, the boy simply jumped from the edge of the boat, raising a spout of water to catch him, and lower him lightly to the ground. “I’m right behind you.” Kinto turned to fill his two water pouches for a moment, before heading off in the direction of the city. “Jet? Who’s that supposed to be?” He asked, turning to walk backwards, so the boy could face Toph. “Pretty boy? That’s cute.” Kinto laughed, taking a few quick steps away, and glancing back over his shoulder at the wall.

“Jet is the leader of a group called the freedom fighters, and is the leader of this operation, well he did figure all this stuff out. I think he is in the city, but odds are that we shouldn’t speak of him since we don’t know who is listening.” She said a little bored of listing facts and walking. Normally she would just earthbend her way there, making the earth run under her feet with her, but Kinto can not only keep up, but he can’t run with her, silly waterbender. It won’t be long now, it has been awhile since Toph was in Ba Sing Se. Things have changed so much since then too.
